인생 첫 수술을 내 돈 주고 한 후기를 올려봅니다.

I'm going to post a review of my first surgery.

 

저는 초등학교 1~2학년부터 안경을 썼고, 고등학생 때부터 소프트렌즈를 착용했으나 난시와 근시가 심한 눈이라 100% 교정이 힘든 마이너스 시력의 nn년차 안경잡이였는데요.

I have worn glasses since the lower grade of elementary school and softlens since I was a high school student. However, I had severe astigmatism and myopia, which made it difficult to correct 100% of my vision. 

 

회사 생활을 이어갈수록 렌즈 착용이 너무 힘들어 안경을 쓰기 시작했는데 이것도 불편한 아주 어쩌라고의 삶을 약 5년 정도 지냈답니다.

The more I worked, the more difficult it was to wear contact lenses. So I started wearing glasses, which was uncomfortable, too. I spent about five years living the life of "Ugly four eyes"

 

오래전부터 시력 교정술을 고민을 안 한건 아닌데 하지 않았던 가장 큰 이유는 공포였습니다.

It's not that I didn't think about eye correction for a long time, but the biggest reason I didn't do it was fear.

 

살면서 큰 수술을 해본 적 없는 인간인데 두 눈 뜨고 수술해야 한다는 게 너무 무서웠어요.

I've never had a major surgery in my life, so I was very scared to have to do it with both eyes open.

언젠가 시력 교정술 상담을 받아보긴 했는데 기본적인 라식, 라섹은 애초에 불가능해서 청주 모 안과에서는 1.0을 바라고 수술하는 거면 해줄 수 없다는 얘기까지 하셔서 포기했더랍니다.

I once received a consultation for vision correction surgery. However, they said LASIK and LASEK were impossible. One ophthalmology clinic in Cheongju even said, ‘If you are performing surgery with the hope of achieving 1.0 visual acuity, we cannot perform the surgery.’ So I gave up on surgery.

 

상담하며 렌즈삽입술에 대해서도 알게 되었지만 가격이 상당히 많이 나갔기 때문에 또 포기를 했어요.

I learned about Implantable Contact Lens through consultation, but I gave up again because the price was quite high.

 

그럼에도 이번에 큰 용기를 내게 된 이유는 청년희망적금이 만기 되면서 수술을 할 수 있는 돈을 모으기도 했고, 미래에 아이를 키울 때 안경으로 인해 생길 여러 불편함이 걱정되기도 해서 결정하게 되었어요.

Nevertheless, the reason I gathered courage this time was because I was able to save up enough money to have surgery as my savings expired. I was also worried about the inconvenience that glasses would cause when raising a baby in the future. So I decided to have surgery.

 

사실 안경 쓰고 육아해도 문제는 없겠지만 그냥 핑계가 필요했나 봐요. ㅎㅎ

Actually, there will be no problem with raising children with glasses on, but I guess I just needed an excuse. lol

 

 

작년 겨울에 교정술 상담을 받은 뒤 올봄에 재상담을 받고 수술 결정을 내려 5월 2, 3일로 수술 예약을 했답니다.

After receiving an orthodontic surgery consultation last winter, I had another consultation this spring and decided to have surgery. I made an appointment for May 2nd and 3rd.

 

하루에 두 눈을 하면 안 되냐고 여쭤봤는데 안전상의 이유로 이틀에 걸쳐 진행한다고 하시네요.

I asked if I could do two eyes a day, but they said it will be held over two days for safety reasons.

 

그래서 목, 금요일 이틀에 걸쳐 수술하게 되었어요.

So, I had the surgery over two days, Thursday and Friday.

 

 

예약한 시간에 가면 이렇게 수술할 눈 아래에 스티커를 붙여 표시를 해주신답니다.

When you go to your scheduled time, they will put a sticker under your eye to indicate where you will have surgery.

 

오른쪽, 왼쪽 순서로 수술했답니다.

I had the surgery in that order: right and left.

 

우선 수술 후기는 아프지는 않은데 아팠어요.

First of all, it didn't hurt, but it did.

 

동공을 확대한 뒤 홍채를 밀며 렌즈를 삽입하는데 그때 약간 뻐근함이 느껴진답니다.

Dilating the pupil and inserting the lens by pushing the iris, so I feel a little stiffness.

 

저는 왼쪽 눈이 특히 뻐근함이 심해서 수술 중에 '으윽'하고 앓는 소리를 내기도 했어요. ㅠㅠ

I had particularly severe stiff in my left eye, so I made a groaning sound during the surgery. TT

 

수술이 끝나면 옆 회복실에서 한 시간 회복 후 진료받은 후에 집으로 돌아갈 수 있답니다.

After surgery, you can recover for an hour in the  recovery room next to operating room, receive medical treatment, and then return home.

수술 후 일주일은 눈이 따갑고 불편했는데 2주 차에 들어서며 불편함이 많이 사라졌어요.

My eyes were sore and uncomfortable for a week after the surgery, but as I entered the second week, a lot of the discomfort disappeared.

 

지금은 딱 한 달이 지났는데 원래 있던 건조함 말고는 큰 불편함이 없이 지내고 있답니다.

It's been exactly a month now, and other than the original dryness, I'm getting by without any major discomfort.

 

다만 아쉬운 점이 있다면 빛 번짐과 약간 떨어지는 시력 교정이랍니다.

However, the only thing that is disappointion is the light smudging and slightly scarce vision correction.

 

어두울 때 렌즈에 빛이 반사되는지 가끔 왼쪽 눈에 반사된 빛이 어른거려 불편하고 오른쪽 눈은 먼 것이 잘 안 보이더라고요.

When it's dark, i think the light reflects of the lens of my left eye, so it making me uncomfortable. And it's hard to see things far away on the right eye.

 

그래도 생활하는 데 조금 불편할 뿐 전체적으로는 아주 만족하고 있어요.

Although it is a little inconvenient of life, but overall I am very satisfied.

 

꾸준히 조심하고 관리해야겠지만 시력 교정술을 한 지인들이 왜 빨리하라고 했는지 알 것 같은 시간을 보내고 있답니다. :)

I have to be careful and take care of it constantly. but I'm having a time where I can see why my friends who had vision correction told me to do it quickly. :)
